RV Slideout & Leveling System Services
There's nothing worse than pulling into a campsite after a long drive and your slideout won't extend. Or you're trying to leave and it won't retract. Either way, you're stuck. We work on every type of slideout and leveling system out there, from the Schwintek rack-and-pinion units on newer trailers to the heavy-duty through-frame slides on Class A coaches. Same goes for leveling jacks. Lippert, HWH, Power Gear - we've got the diagnostic tools and replacement parts to fix them on-site.
We repair all RV slideout and leveling systems in Vero Beach. Seal replacement $150-350, motor swap $300-700, jack service $200-500, full rebuild $1,000-3,000. We come to your location with parts and tools. Call 772-218-5861 for same-day or next-day service.
Schwintek Slideout Repair
Schwintek systems are everywhere on newer travel trailers and fifth wheels. They're reliable when they're maintained, but the rack gears can strip if the slide binds from debris or seal friction. We replace gears, motors, and controllers. If your Schwintek slide is making a grinding noise, call before it gets worse.
Slideout Motor Replacement
Electric slideout motors wear out over time. You'll hear them straining, running slow, or they'll just stop working entirely. We carry replacement motors for most Lippert and Power Gear systems. A motor swap typically runs $300-700 depending on the unit and how accessible the motor is. Most jobs take 2-3 hours.
Slideout Seal Replacement
Worn seals let rain in and let conditioned air out. Florida's heat dries out rubber seals faster than you'd expect, and once they start cracking, water damage follows quickly. We replace wiper seals, bulb seals, and flap seals. Costs $150-350 per slide depending on size. It's one of the cheapest ways to prevent expensive interior damage.
Hydraulic Leveling Jacks
HWH and Power Gear hydraulic systems are common on motorhomes and larger fifth wheels. Leaking seals, stuck valves, and low fluid are the usual problems. We carry hydraulic fluid, replacement seals, and pump components on the truck. Most jack repairs run $200-500. We test every jack after the repair to make sure it holds.
Electric Leveling Systems
Electric leveling jacks from Lippert are standard on most travel trailers built in the last decade. The motors, gear drives, and control boards all need periodic service. If your auto-level isn't working right or a jack won't extend, it's usually a motor, sensor, or wiring issue we can diagnose on-site.
Through-Frame Slideout Systems
These heavy-duty systems use rail mechanisms that pass through the RV's main frame. They're found on larger fifth wheels and Class A coaches. The cables can fray, rails can corrode (especially in Florida's salt air near the coast), and the gearboxes wear out. Full cable replacement runs $400-800. We adjust and lubricate these systems on-site.
Slideout & Leveling Issues We Fix Every Week
Slideout Won't Move at All
This is our most common call. Before you panic, check your battery voltage. Slideout motors draw a lot of amps, and if your house batteries are below 11.5 volts, the motor won't have enough power to move the slide. If the batteries are fine and you hear a click but no movement, it's usually a bad relay, a blown fuse, or a burned-out motor. We can diagnose and fix it on-site, usually the same day you call.
Slide Moves Slowly or Unevenly
If one side of your slideout extends faster than the other, the mechanism is binding or one motor is failing. On Schwintek systems, this often means one gear rack is jammed with debris or the motor on one side is weaker than the other. We clean the tracks, check both motors, and re-sync the system. Ignoring this leads to a slide that gets completely stuck at the worst possible time.
Water Leaking Around the Slideout
Rain leaking around your slideout is a seal problem 90% of the time. The wiper seals on top and the bulb seals on the sides get hard and cracked from Florida's UV exposure. They're supposed to flex and compress against the RV wall, but when they harden, gaps appear. We also check the slide topper fabric, because a torn or sagging topper holds water and dumps it right past the seals. New seals are cheap insurance against interior water damage to your walls and appliances.
Leveling Jacks Leaking Fluid
Hydraulic leveling systems develop leaks at the cylinder seals, hose connections, and pump. If you see a puddle of red or clear fluid under your rig, that's hydraulic fluid. Don't keep running the system - it'll burn the pump out once the fluid gets low. We find the leak, replace the seal or hose, top off the fluid, and bleed the air out. Most repairs take about an hour.
Getting Your Slide or Jacks Fixed
Tell Us What's Happening
Call 772-218-5861 or fill out our online form. Describe the problem - which slide, what it does (or doesn't do), any noises, any error codes. The more detail you give us, the better we can prepare. We'll bring the right parts on the first trip.
On-Site Diagnosis
We show up at your campsite, driveway, or storage lot. We test the electrical system, check motor function, inspect seals, and identify exactly what's failed. You get a clear explanation and a firm price before we start any work.
Repair and Test
We fix the problem on the spot. After the repair, we cycle the slideout or leveling system multiple times to make sure it's working right. We also clean and lubricate the mechanism while we're there. You don't pay until the system is operating the way it should.
